Let's walk through some of the high-level changes.

The Tech & Engine Overhaul

  • UE 5.7 Migration: Successfully migrated to Unreal Engine 5.7, unlocking Nanite foliage, better level streaming, and superior lighting tools.

Gameplay Evolution

  • Stealth System: "Illumination Component": Implemented a stealth system inspired by Splinter Cell! This system calculates how lit the player is using a mix of light attenuation and distance calculations. The more illuminated you are, the easier you are to detect—creating dynamic stealth gameplay where positioning and light management matter. Firing

  • Mechanics Rework: Fully reworked the firing mechanics to integrate seamlessly with the Lyra framework while working better with physical projectiles.

  • Movement: Reworked the "Space Jump" mechanics for better control and responsiveness.

Multiplayer & Systems

  • Epic EOS Integration: While there's still a lot of work left to do here, we have a beachhead! You can now log in and host games, getting a really rough feel for what my vision of multiplayer will be. The flow of MP needs work, but the foundation is there—players can connect, host sessions, and experience the core multiplayer framework in action.

  • Rarity System: Defined tiers (Common to Legend) where gear score dictates power, but abilities define playstyle. Art & Atmosphere Procedural Design: Using Houdini to generate angular, glass-accented sci-fi architecture. Audio: Brought on an audio collaborator!!! you can check out his track in the main menu!!

Feedback welcome: If you have thoughts, notes, or find bugs, I’d love to hear them. Your early feedback helps shape this project. Thanks for checking it out and for supporting this journey.

This is just the start — more polish, more content, and more world-building coming soon.

Disclaimer: This build is extremely early. Expect bugs, placeholder art and audio, temp systems, rough animations, and some unpredictable gameplay behavior. This is a raw preview of the foundation, not the final experience. If you're a fan of sci-fi shooters inspired by Destiny and Halo, and you want a glimpse at the world I’m creating, I’d love for you to jump in and check it out.
